Prime &

Mature

Bringing your cat in for an annual wellness exam will reassure you that they are healthy {or} it can help us detect a potential concern. Early detection can improve the prognosis of many diseases.

Cats age faster than humans, which is why it is crucial for your cat to receive regular exams.

The Prime stage of your cat's life usually falls between three - six years of age.  Your cat will experience their Mature stage of life around seven - ten years of age

You are your cat's expert and greatest advocate. Please let us know if you notice changes in their disposition. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Senior &

Geriatric

As your cat gets older, he/she needs more attention and special care. Our senior/geriatric cat wellness program will help them remain fit and healthy as they age.

Senior status usually falls between eleven - fourteen years of age.  The Geriatric Stage usually begins around age fifteen.

Dr. Emilee and her team will help you determine which life-stage your cat is experiencing, and develop a personalized wellness plan for your cat. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

  • Flea Prevention

Dr. Emilee and her team can provide you with safe and effective flea prevention options. Fleas can cause problems for pets ranging from minor to life-threatening. Not only can these parasites cause severe itching, irritation, and allergies, but they can also transmit tapeworms and diseases.  to learn more about fleas, read our blogTo read Dr. Emilee's response to the October 2018 FDA alert for flea & tick products, click here.

  • Heartworm Prevention

Cats are an atypical host for heartworms. Most worms in cats do not survive to the adult stage. Immature worms cause damage in the form of  Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease (HARD). Medication used to treat heartworm infections in dogs cannot be used on cats, so prevention is an option to protect your cat.  To learn more about Heartworm Disease, click HERE.

  • Tick Prevention

Ticks are parasites that can cause serious diseases in cats as well as humans.  The best method of keeping ticks off of your cat is to use a tick preventative. Indoor-only cats are still at-risk because ticks can come indoors on clothing or shoes. Tick preventatives are safe and highly effective. Dr Emilee will recommend what is best for your cat based on their environment. Reproductive Surgery

Neutering your cat, {which will prevent him from reproducing} can help him live a longer, healthier life. Neutering him will not change his personality, but will make him less aggressive. The procedure involves removing the testicles

Spaying is a surgical procedure which will prevent your female cat from becoming pregnant. Spaying will not change her personality, but it could protect her from potentially dangerous diseases, and several types of cancer. The procedure involves removing the ovaries and the uterus

reproductive surgery helps control the cat over-population problem -- which will keep more animals out of shelters.

Both reproductive surgeries will require your pet to be placed under anesthesia. While under anesthesia, our patients are closely monitored by a veterinary  technician.

To set up an appointment for reproductive surgery, or to learn more about this procedure, call us or visit our clinic.
